Ajax Axe (New York, 1985)
Ajax's work considers the concept of human imagination and narrative to have great power in the construction of a society. These elements are strongly present in the heart of her work.
With a background in writing and photojournalism, and having studied sculpture and anthropology, her work derives from a wide field of investigations in East Africa.
She playfully encourages the participation of spectators, deconstructing the nature of human identity and its beliefs. Her pieces invite a profound reflection of the future of humanity and the effect of our actions on the environment.
She currently lives and works between Aspen, Colorado, USA and Sudan, Namibia and Kenya.
